Project Title: Empowering Entrepreneurship through Seed Capital and Financial Support for Persons with Disabilities (Current Project)
Project Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh (with PWDs of other districts)

Overview:
“Empowering Entrepreneurship through Seed Capital and Financial Support for Persons with Disabilities” project equips persons with disabilities and underserved community members with the financial means and know-how to start and sustain self-employment. Beyond providing start-up capital and equipments, the program builds lasting financial confidence, helping beneficiaries save, plan, and make the most of the assets and skills they already have, so that early support grows into long-term income security.
What We Provided:
Access to Microfinance & Start-Up Grants
Beneficiaries are connected to microfinance opportunities or provided effective equipment or provided direct start-up grants to launch or expand small businesses and self-employment ventures, removing the capital barrier that often blocks entrepreneurship.
Savings & Financial Literacy Training
Practical training on budgeting, saving, and basic financial management helps beneficiaries build habits for long-term income security, protecting them against shocks and helping capital grow over time.
Effective Asset Utilization Guidance
Beneficiaries receive guidance on how to use their seed capital and existing assets, from livestock to vocational tools, most effectively, maximizing return and ensuring resources translate into steady income.
Who Benefits:
Persons with disabilities, women, and economically disadvantaged individuals within IWS's community who have completed skills training or hold productive assets and need capital and financial guidance to turn them into sustainable income.
Our Approach:
The program pairs financial capital with financial literacy — recognizing that funding alone rarely leads to lasting change. Each beneficiary is supported not just to receive money, but to plan, save, and manage it wisely, building the confidence and discipline needed for long-term self-reliance.
Impact:
By strengthening both access to capital and financial capability, this initiative helps beneficiaries move beyond one-time support toward durable income security, informed financial decision-making, and sustainable self-employment.
