The Story of a Shirin Akhtar
Shirin Akter is the daughter of Bandar area in Narayanganj district. She has been suffering from a mental illness for the last 20-25 years. His parents died long ago. She later started living with her younger brother. But she does not let anyone in the house sleep at night. She makes noise all night. Most of the locals do not accept her mental illness. They says she is possessed.

Then Shirin Akhter’s was sent in the open space in front of the house to live. She was chained. Her younger brother has tried to get Shirin treated several times. Shirin also recovered slightly after being taken to the hospital. But later, Shirin’s condition worsened because her brother could not afford to buy the prescription drugs.

Upon hearing this tragic story of Shirin, the Inspiration Welfare Society family rushed to Shirin. Talking to her, she was shackled. Then she was initially helped by paying. After hearing Shirin’s story, many more came forward for help. Shirin was brought to Dhaka for treatment. Shirin is slowly getting better.

She no longer annoys her younger brother’s family at night. Her condition is improving day by day. Meanwhile, a house was arranged for Shirin after talking to the local administration. All sorts of help, including the cost of Shirin’s treatment, were arranged at one time. Shirin is currently recovering. She is able to take medicine regularly.
