Story of a Net Girl

Shikha is the daughter of Madan Kumar Das and Chandana Kumar Das of Mazbari Union in Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari district. Whose age is 10 years. She is the eldest of three brothers and sisters. If he sees anyone he wants to kill so the flame is netted. To learn such a condition by birth. Shikha’s father works in a saloon shop. His income is very low. Which is very difficult to run the family. Due to lack of money, Shikha’s brother Chandan Kumar Das stopped studying. The girl is not treated. Shikha has been treated at the Upazila Health Complex. But there was no improvement as it was not regular.

Knowing the Situation of Shikha and her family, Syeda Munira Islam, general secretary of Inspiration Welfare Society, visited Shikha’s house in Mazbari union of Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari district. She spoke to Dr. Al Mamun, Medical Officer of Upazila Health Complex. He said that if Shikha was taken to Dhaka for long term treatment, she would be fine. Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Zillur Rahman informed that all facilities Disability Allounce card are being provided by the Department of Social Services. But these are not enough.

In order for Shikha to get new clothes and the family to be self-sufficient, Shikha’s mother was given cash to buy a sewing machine. Shikhar’s brother Chandan’s education has been taken over by the Inspiration Welfare Society. Syeda Munira Islam, general secretary of Inspiration Welfare Society, assured the family that she would take Shikha to Dhaka for better treatment.
